According to a post by the Rasmussen Reports this Wednesday morning, Mitt Romney still has attracted 49% of likely voters across the US, while President Obama had 47%. Two percent (2%) prefers some other candidate, while three percent (3%) remain undecided. Romney was leading by 3 percent last Sunday.

As noted in the report, sixteen percent (16%) of white Democrats are now supporting Mitt Romney and that the 65-year old former Massachusetts governor is ahead of the president by % in the key swing state of Colorado, 50% to 47%. Obama and Romney are still tied at 49% in Ohio, which remain unchanged since last week.

Meanwhile, Rasmussen Reports noted that they are based in Asbury Park, New Jersey, which was badly hit by Hurricane Sandy. Their recent survey interview phone calls were placed from a different location, and they were able to release a limited amount of data only, but they hope that they will back to normal this Thursday.

Mike Huckabee to Christians: “Vote on values that will stand the test of fire” (Video)

Posted: 31 Oct 2012 07:22 AM PDT

Mike Huckabee warns Christians on this coming US presidential election, as shown in the video below, uploaded at YouTube last week; saying that they should “vote based on values that will stand the test of fire.” He did not mention Mitt Romney‘s name, but the ad is being believed to be against US President Barack Obama.

“In generations past, the Church has always been able to count on the faithful to stand up and protect its sacred rights and duties. This generation of Christians must do the same.” Mike Huckabee said on the first part of the video, adding later that many other issues are more important than jobs, taxes and economy.

“Many issues are at stake, but some issues are not negotiable: The right to life from conception to natural death. Marriage should be reinforced, not redefined.” Huckabee, 57, a former Governor of Arkansas and is now hosting Huckabee, a political commentary program being aired on the Fox News Channel.

“It is an egregious violation of our cherished principle of religious liberty for the government to force the Church to buy the kind of insurance that leads to the taking of innocent human life.” Huckabee added, who endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney last May and criticized Obama‘s administration.

“Your vote will affect the future and be recorded in eternity. Will you vote the values that will stand the test of fire? This is Mike Huckabee asking you to join me November 6th and vote based on values that will stand the test of fire.” Huckabee said on the last part, with the ad video produced by Creative Lab.

In the latest 2012 Gallup Presidential poll, 54 percent of Americans predicted that the incumbent president will be re-elected against the Republican nominee. Only 34 percent of Americans who answered the survey predicted a Romney win in the 2012 US Presidential elections on Tuesday, November 6.

Gallup conducted its latest Presidential poll before Hurricane Sandy hit several US states.

Based on the Gallup polls conducted in 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008, Americans correctly predicts the winning US president.

However, political analysts are still wary that Superstorm Sandy can still provide the twist in the last few days before Election Day.

As noted at eBay.com auction page that day, President Clinton used the Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop computer and sent an email on November 6, 1998 to astronaut John Glenn, who was then boarding the NASA‘s space shuttle Discovery, and became the oldest person to fly in space at the age of 77.

Clinton‘s gift to the internet age: The actual Toshiba computer that President Bill Clinton used to send his only Presidential E-mail. This is the first email of a President and the first email of a President to outer space.” A statement reads on the description of the eBay auction page of the Clinton computer for sale.

“It still has the historic message to John Glenn in space on the hard drive and disc and has outstanding documentation, including a signed photo of the President using the computer with an appropriate acknowledgment of the task and a signed print-out of the historic email also with John Glenn‘s signature.” eBay added.

“This is certainly a first for me, writing to a President from space…The whole crew was impressed that you would be the first President to personally see a shuttle launch.” John Glenn wrote in his email to President Clinton, with the historical laptop in auction also containing a signed photo of the President using the computer.

Hillary and I had a great time at the launch. We are very proud of you and the entire crew, and a little jealous.” President Clinton wrote on his reply email, with the said 8×10 color photo showing the president along with Commander Robert G. Darling, Medical Corps of the United States Navy, White House physician, and owner of the laptop.

Jeep not moving to China, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne confirms, contrary to Mitt Romney’s claim

Posted: 31 Oct 2012 01:07 AM PDT

The production of Chrysler‘s Jeep is not moving from US to China, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne confirmed on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, in support of the earlier statement of Chrysler. This is contrary to what Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has claimed in his earlier speech in Ohio, which was also mentioned in his new ad.

According to a press release posted at Blog.Chryslerllc.com on Tuesday noon, Sergio Marchionne made a statement confirming that Jeep is not moving to China and that the company has even plans to invest more in their operation of Jeep in US facilities so that they can be able to meet the demands worldwide.

“I feel obliged to unambiguously restate our position: Jeep production will not be moved from the United States to China. North American production is critical to achieving our goal of selling 800,000 Jeep vehicles by 2014. We also are investing to improve and expand our entire U.S. operations, including our Jeep facilities.” Marchionne wrote.

“With the increase in demand for our vehicles, especially Jeep branded vehicles; we have added more than 11,200 U.S. jobs since 2009. This will ultimately help bolster the Jeep brand, and solidify the resilience of U.S. jobs. Jeep is one of our truly global brands with uniquely American roots.” The Chrysler CEO added.

Mr. Marchionne said that Chrysler will invest more than $1.7 billion to develop and produce the next generation Jeep SUV, including a $500-million investment directly to tool and expand our Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio, which will result to 1,100 additional jobs on a second shift by 2013.

In addition, he emphasized that over $1.8 billion was invested at Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, where the Jeep Grand Cherokee was produced, which created around 2,000 jobs since June 2009. Furthermore, an additional 2,600 jobs were created in their Chrysler factory in Belvidere, Illinois, where two Jeep models were built.

“So much so that we committed that the iconic Wrangler nameplate, currently produced in our Toledo, Ohio plant, will never see full production outside the United States. Jeep assembly lines will remain in operation in the United States and will constitute the backbone of the brand. It is inaccurate to suggest anything different.” Marchionne said on the last part.

Disney is set to pay cash for the half of the selling price.

“For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next. It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime.” George Lucas was quoted in the report.

“I’m confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney‘s reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products.” Lucas added.

Lucasfilm reflects the extraordinary passion, vision, and storytelling of its founder, George Lucas.” The Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Robert A. Iger was quoted in the report, with Kathleen Kennedy to become the president of Lucasfilm and will be reporting to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn.

“This transaction combines a world-class portfolio of content including Star Wars, one of the greatest family entertainment franchises of all time, with Disney‘s unique and unparalleled creativity across multiple platforms, businesses, and markets to generate sustained growth and drive significant long-term value.” Iger added.

Rasmussen Reports released its latest presidential polls for Tuesday, October 30, 2012 and showed that Mitt Romney still is ahead of President Barack Obama by 2%. This is the same result for last Monday’s survey and for the Electoral College votes in Ohio, 50% to 48%.

According to a post at RasmussenReports.com this Tuesday morning, Mitt Romney has attracted 49% of likely voters across the US, while President Obama had 47%. One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, and another two percent (2%) remain undecided. Last Sunday, Romney‘s lead was 3 percent.

As noted in the report, Romney received fifty-one percent (51%) of the likely voters having favorable opinion and Obama had forty-eight percent (48%). The 65-year old former Massachusetts governor is also leading by 6% over the president in terms of the voters’ trust on the economy, 51% to 45%.

Meanwhile, 67% of the voters are reportedly excited about the choice in the coming presidential election, and 77% of Republicans said they are excited on the election result, as compared to only 75% of the Democrats. Twenty-nine percent (29%) said they observe it as the choice between the lesser of two evils.

In addition, Rasmussen Reports noted that forty-eight percent (48%) of voters now said they think President Obama will win the election again, but it is first time the data have been below 50% in the entire year of their survey. On the other hand, forty-one percent (41%) said they believe that Mitt Romney will win.

For the likely Ohio voters, the Rasmussen Reports telephone survey as of Monday, October 29 revealed that Romney had a 50% support while President Obama only had 48%. One percent (1%) said they prefer other candidates, while another one percent (1%) remains undecided.

Apparently, Gallup announced on Monday that they will be temporarily suspending their tracking of presidential polls due to the effect of Hurricane Sandy, and has not released results for Tuesday, October 30. Nevertheless, their latest presidential polls (October 22-28) show that Obama and Romney are tied at 48 percent.

As aired live at ABC on Tuesday night, Sabrina Bryan was voted out from the DTWS All-Stars on its Week 6 elimination night and the crowd booed after the announcement. This is because the pair had a perfect score on their last performance on Monday, and a total score of 88.5/90 for their performances in two weeks.

On the first part of the show, Apolo Anton Ohno & Karina Smirnoff repeated their Viennese Waltz performance on Monday, which gave them a perfect score, and had a total score of 86.5/90 for their performances in two weeks, which is second to the highest score, next to Sabrina & Louis.

Emmitt Smith & Cheryl Burke and Kelly Monaco & Val Chmerkovskiy were the first dancing pairs to be announced as safe, and were followed by Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough, Gilles Marini & Peta Murgatroyd, and Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who had a total score of 80/90.

The guest performers this Tuesday night were Macy’s Stars of Dance; Jason Mraz, who sang his single “I Won’t Give Up” along with a dance routine by Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas; and Taylor Swift, who sang her latest song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

Meanwhile, there will be no performance and elimination show next week, to give way for the US presidential elections on Tuesday, November 6. Later, Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani were announced as safe, leaving Apolo & Karina on the Bottom 2 with Sabrina & Louis, who was eventually eliminated.
