Ombudsman Clears GMA
MANILA, Philippines --- The Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) has dismissed the plunder charge filed against former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and several others in connection with the alleged misuse of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) funds amounting to more than P540 million, it was learned Wednesday.
In an 11-page resolution issued on September 25, 2012, OMB Chair Conchita Carpio Morales said there was no sufficient evidence to elevate the case to the Sandiganbayan against Mrs. Arroyo and three others.
