Suspension of Classes August 20-21, 2013 – Manila Yellow Alert

Most of the provinces that is affected by the Habagat intensified by Bagyong Maring declared a state of Calamity, there are some unfortunate victim who died in the flooding.

The NDRRMC is monitoring the provinces affected so far reported are 100 family affected and evacuated in Bataan, 2 towns in Ilocos Sur is already in the state of Calamity, and 37 evacuation center.

Metro Manila is in Yellow Alert due to heavy flooding, below are some provinces and cities already declared suspension of classes for August 20, 2013.

  • Cavite
  • Laguna
  • Paranaque
  • Las Pinas
  • Bataan

The Bagyong Maring is still in stationary and it is somewhat not moving due to the Low Pressure area that is on the upper location of Bagyong Maring. The Bagyong Maring is expected to make a u-turn and will move to the vicinity of Taiwan tonight or tomorrow.

Bagyong Maring PAGASA Update – Manila in Red Alert

Manila is on Red Alert this is in preparation for the possible floodings and flash floods, so far no classes in all levels in metro manila and even Philippine Stock exchange halt its operation because of the strong winds and rain,  the government offices also declared no work today as well as the senate due to floods in the streets of Metro Manila.

Here are the updates on the Bagyong Maring… the Typhoon is already 530 km East Southeast of Itbayat, Batanes and has a maximum winds of 75 kph near the center and with a gustiness of 90 kph, it is expected to be 770 km East of Itbayat, Batanes on Tuesday morning, it will be on 590 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes of Wednesday.

Although there is no storm signal issued by PAGASA, still the public are warned for a possible flooding and strorm surge especially in the low lying areas in Luzon.
