According to a post by the Rasmussen Reports on Monday morning, Mitt Romney attracted from 49% of voters across the US, while President Obama only had 48%. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, while another one percent (1%) remains undecided. Romney was leading by 3 percent last week.

As noted in the report, their final presidential polls will be released on early Tuesday morning, after conducting their last survey on Monday night. Their final swing state polls including for Ohio, Virginia, and New Hampshire will be released later Monday. Their latest Electoral College Map shows that Obama is leading.

Apparently, Romney is now back on his narrow advantage over Obama for the Rasmussen presidential polls, although the latest and final NBC News/WSJ poll showed that Obama is leading by 1%, 48% to 47%. Both candidates were tied at 49% at CNN/ORC International survey this Sunday, November 4.

Based on the trend of their polls, Obama was leading before the first presidential debate, but it later went the other way around and Mitt Romney has reached the 50% of the survey, and he enjoyed a comfortable lead for a few days. Nevertheless, the lead of each candidate became slimmer as Election Day comes nearer.

Meanwhile, Obama and Romney remain tied at 49% each for the likely voters of Ohio and Wisconsin; but the president led by 5% in Michigan, 52% to 47%. That survey was conducted last Thursday, November 1 to 750 Likely Voters, which had a margin of sampling error is +/- 4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

Early voting results: Early Voters in Florida Endures Long Lines (Video)

Posted: 05 Nov 2012 08:01 AM PST

Early voting results in Florida may be affected because of the long lines experienced by early voters who waited for hours under the heat of the sun on Monday, November 5, 2012. Some of the early voters who will not be able to cast their ballot will be forced to return on Election Day on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

As reported earlier, US President Barack Obama currently leads over Republican candidate Mitt Romney in early voting results in Florida for the 2012 US Presidential elections.

The long queue of early voters was reportedly the result of the refusal of Republican governor, Rick Scott, to extend early voting hours.

In a statement, Scott said that the long lines in early voting means “People are getting out to vote. That’s what’s very good.” While refusing to extend early voting hours, Scott insists that he is “focused on making sure that we have fair, honest elections. One thing to know, these early voting days and on Election Day, if you’re there by the time the polls close, you get to vote.”

Reports say that early voters waited for about three to four hours before they can cast a ballot.

On Sunday, November 4, early voters were reportedly allowed to personally cast absentee ballots between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. but it was immediately stopped after only two hours due to heavy influx of voters.

Early voters who were locked out on Sunday reportedly were heard shouting “We want to vote!”

Some observers say that the long lines in Florida was due to the shortened number of early voting days from 14 to eight.

Electoral College Map 2012: Projections show President Obama leading over Mitt Romney

Posted: 05 Nov 2012 07:56 AM PST

The latest projections of the Electoral College Map for the 2012 US elections show that President Barack Obama is leading over Republican candidate Mitt Romney, less than 24 hours before the Election Day, on Tuesday, November 6. A presidential candidate should have 270 electoral votes to win the election.

As of Monday, November 5, 2012, the Electoral College Map 2012 for ABC/Washington Post presidential polls show that President Obama has 207 electoral votes, while Mitt Romney has only 191, which means Obama only needs 63 to win his re-election bid, as compared to 78 for the former Massachusetts governor.

As noted by ABC News Political Director Amy Walter, latest presidential polls indicate that Obama is slightly ahead in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Ohio. If he will win in these three states, he may not win in every other battleground state, such as Nevada, Colorado, Virginia, Florida, and New Hampshire, but still can win the electorate.

For Ohio, which is notably the key to win the election, Romney is being projected to win without it, as long as he wins in Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa, New Ohio, New Hampshire, Virginia, and Florida. For Obama, he is being expected to win without it provided he wins in Virginia, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Nevada.

Meanwhile, The New York TimesElectoral College Map indicates that President Obama has 243 electoral votes, against 206 of Mitt Romney, with Ohio, Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Florida as the remaining toss-up states. ABC News includes Nevada in the list of their toss-up states.

On the other hand, Houston Chronicle‘s Rick Dunham reported also this Monday that Colorado is the only remaining toss-up state in their Electoral College Map, which indicates that President Obama could win the electoral votes over Romney, 281 to 248, after analyzing the current figures on the map at RealClearPolitics.com.

“Obama’s small lead reflects an important change in the dynamics of the race. Last Monday, Romney led in six of the ten previous polls. Now, Obama is ahead in states (and the District of Columbia) with 281 electoral votes — more than enough to win if he just hangs on.” Dunham wrote at Blog.Chron.com.

Romney‘s best hope for victory: that all of the polls are wrong and that Republican enthusiasm trumps the pollsters’ turnout models.” Dunham added, noting that the Republican candidate has an advantage in the southern swing states, such as Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida.

For Rasmussen Reports, their latest Electoral College Map indicates that eight states with a total of 95 Electoral College votes still remain as toss-ups, which include Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Obama has now 237 electoral votes, while Romney has only 206.

Presidential Polls 2012: Obama and Romney tied at 49%, final CNN/ORC International survey says

Posted: 05 Nov 2012 01:48 AM PST

The latest and final CNN presidential polls showed that US President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney are tied at 49%, with only two days left before the US presidential election, which is the virtually the same with the result from the latest Rasmussen Reports polls.

As announced at CNN.com on Sunday, November 4, 2012, Obama and Romney have attracted 49% each of likely voters across the US, based on their survey conducted from November 2-4 (Friday to Sunday) by ORC International, as compared to final NBC News/WSJ polls where Obama had 48% and Romney with 47%.

According to the report, the survey was conducted to 1,010 adult Americans, including 918 registered voters and 693 likely voters, questioned by telephone, which had a sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points for the for likely and registered voters as well.

“Fifty-three percent of women saying they plan to vote for President Obama compared to only 44% of men. That works out to a nine-point gender gap, which would be the largest since 1996,” CNN Polling Director Keating Holland was quoted in the report.

“On age, Obama is getting less support among younger voters than he did four years ago. But he manages a tie with Governor Romney among senior citizens – a group he lost to Senator McCain by eight points.” Holland added, noting that the Democratic Party is being viewed as more favorably than the Republicans.

Obama also has inevitability on his side: 57% say he will win another term, compared to only 36% who think Romney will win. And with only 4% saying that they might change their minds before Election Day, time is running out to make that closing argument.” Holland further explained.

Based on the survey, Romney is winning over Obama among white voters, 57% to 40%; while the president is leading over former Massachusetts governor among voters who earn less than $50,000 a year, 56% to 40%. On the other hand, Romney has a 52%-47% advantage among those earning $50,000 per year and above.

Meanwhile, the final CNN presidential poll also shows that President Obama is ahead in the Northeast, Midwest, and urban areas, while Mitt Romney is leading in the South, West, and suburban and rural areas. The same poll also reveals that Obama has a favorable rating of 52% in the poll, while Romney is very close at 51%.

“I’m so excited. I’m really happy to become the youngest player at the Masters and looking forward to going there. I don't know what’s going to happen there, but I know I just want to do well.” The 14-year old Chinese golfer was quoted in a press conference, after he won the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship.

“I have met him a couple of times, at the HSBC Champions tournament in 2010 and the Nike Junior Invitational the following year and he was very nice. Why is he such a great player? In my opinion it is because he plays with such a strong mind and a strong heart.” Tian-lang says of Tiger Woods.
