As noted at WBTW that day, the photo of the swimming shark found was first posted by Kevin P McCarty on his Facebook page. He lives in Brigantine Beach, and has also posted several other photos of the flooding in their neighborhood. The photo was reportedly among the wild images of Superstorm Sandy‘s fury.

“now i cant leave…. sharks in the street.” Kevin P McCarty wrote on his Facebook page, along with a photo of the flood, including a swimming shark with its fin seen on top of the water. It has been shared more than 5,300 times but some commentators expressed their doubts about its authenticity.

“for the non believers….” McCarty wrote later, again with another photo of a swimming shark, this time under the water. As of this writing, the said photo has been shared in Facebook more than 6,400 times. Although there are still those who did not believe it was real, there are those who agreed that it is not photoshopped.

Manhattan building facade collapses partially due to Superstorm Sandy (Video)

The facade of a Manhattan building partially collapsed on Monday, October 29, 2012, due to strong winds before Superstorm Sandy made its landfall, as shown in the video below. Members of Fire Department of New York (FDNY) immediately rushed to the scene on 8th Avenue between 14th and 15th Streets.

“Firefighters went in and rescued the residents. Some residents said same thing happened to same building 20 years ago.” Meg Robertson (@Meg Robertson) of the Huffington Post tweeted on Monday night, who posted a photo of the aftermath of the incident, adding later that the building is located at 92 8th Avenue.

“I know I took the photos but I can’t believe a front of a building actually fell completely off.” Robertson tweeted later, and continued on posting close-up photos of the incident and debris that fell from the face of the third and fourth floors of the building on the street.

“There are no injuries or people trapped at 92 8th Ave building collapse, which involved the facade of the structure,” FDNY (@FDNY) tweeted also on Monday night, which later tweeted various incidents of fire in Brooklyn, Breezy Point, Queens, and other areas in New York City.

Meanwhile, ABC News is also reporting incidents of massive floods in New York City as Superstorm Sandy began slamming the East Coast, and reporting casualties and missing persons. Local authorities said that there is flooding in two major commuter tunnels as well as subway stations and tracks.

On the other hand, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg held a press conference and warning all residents of storm surge, and ordered the evacuation of thousands from New York City and New Jersey; but a lot of them still decided to stay at home. Almost 5 million are without power, as of 3 am ET on Tuesday.

Romney’s Jeep claim mentioned in his new ad, slammed by new Obama ad, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton (Video)

Posted: 29 Oct 2012 07:57 PM PDT

Mitt Romney‘s Jeep claim of moving its production from US to China appeared in his new political ad, but was immediately slammed by a new Obama ad, as shown in the video below. Chrysler earlier released a statement contradicting Romney‘s claim. Former US President Bill Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden also attacked Romney.

“Who will do more for the auto industry? Not Barack Obama. Fact checkers confirm his attacks on Mitt Romney are false. The truth? Mitt Romney has a plan to help the auto industry. He’s supported by Lee Iacocca and the Detroit News.” A narrator for the new Romney ad said, as shown in the video below.

Obama took GM and Chrysler into bankruptcy, and sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China. Mitt Romney will fight for every American job.” The narrator added, referring to the speech of Romney in Ohio on Thursday, when he said that he saw a story about Jeep‘s moving from US to China.

Apparently, the 65-year old Massachusetts governor was believed to have referred to a news report by Bloomberg on Monday, October 22, titled “Fiat Says Jeep Output May Return to China as Demand Rises,” and quoting a statement made by Jeep brand President and CEO Mike Manley.

On Thursday, October 25, Gualberto Ranieri wrote at Blog.Chryslerllc.com, saying that Bloomberg‘s report was accurate but noted the “birth to a number of stories making readers believe that Chrysler plans to shift all Jeep production to China from North America,” and clarified that Romney‘s Jeep claim is not true.

Meanwhile, a new Obama ad was released on Monday, October 29, saying that “when the auto industry faced collapse, Mitt Romney turned his back. Even the conservative Detroit News criticized Romney for his ‘wrong-headedness’ on the bailout,” adding later that “Chrysler itself had refuted Romney‘s false claim.”

Also on Monday, former US president Bill Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden appeared together in a political rally in Ohio as a tag team criticizing Mitt Romney, particularly on his Jeep‘s claim. As noted by CNN, both leaders referred Chrysler‘s statement in their speech, as against Romney‘s claim.
