| LA Auto Show: 2013 Toyota RAV4 Debuts at 2012 LA Auto Show (Photos) Posted: 30 Nov 2012 09:13 AM PST  LA Auto Show logo Image Credit: LA Auto Show The 2013-MY RAV4 by Toyota made its debut at a press conference for the 2012 LA Auto Show held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Toyota‘s fourth-generation RAV4 is reportedly coming out in three trim levels, the LE, XLE, and Limited models. The latest RAV4 features a four-cylinder engine and an interior that can accommodate five passengers.  2013 Toyota RAV4 Image Credit: Greg Basich Reports say that the 2013 RAV4 has a new single engine with a “2.5L four-cylinder that produces 176 hp at 6,000 rpm and 172 lb. ft. of torque.” Toyota reportedly discontinued using its V-6 engine on the RAV4. The 2012 list of top songs from Spotify is its first release since it started in the US in 2011. Spotify is a Swedish music service that provides selected digitally restricted music from several major and independent recording companies that include Sony, EMI, Warner Music Group and Universal. According to Spotify, the top female artist on its list include Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Adele. The top male solo artist list include David Guetta, Flo Rida, Eminem and Skrillex. United States artist Dr. Dre is reportedly the world’s highest paid musician for 2012. Dr. Dre earned about $110 million in 2012. However, majority of his earnings came from his Beats by Dre headphones business. He received $100-million after selling 51% of his stake in his headphone company. The Forbes top 25 highest paid musicians reportedly include pop stars, rock icons, rap moguls and male country singers. According Forbes, most of the artists that made the top 25 list made money “outside the recording studio” but mainly on business ventures and concert tours. The 2012 highest paid musicians is also a list of international artists from the US, England and Ireland among others. The finalists are those reserved for production vehicles on sale by Jan. 1 of the award year.  2013 Ford Fusion Image Credit: Ford As noted in the press release by the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, all the nominees are commendable in the way that they promote environmental performance in significant and proven ways while also presenting an accessible choice to sufficient consumers to make a real impact on the environment. “This is a great testament for Ford. We’ve moved our brand from laggards to leaders in fuel economy.” David Mondragon, Ford general marketing manager, said while accepting the award for Ford Fusion, which beat four other finalists including Ford C-Max, Dodge Dart Aero, Mazda CX-5 Skyactiv, and Toyota Prius C. “We are very honored that the all-new Ford Fusion has been recognized as the Green Car of the Year by the Green Car Journal. From EcoBoost to hybrid and plug-in hybrid offerings, the new Fusion is delivering best-in-class fuel economy all wrapped in a dynamic package.” Mondragon added. “The 2013 Ford Fusion approaches the market with a ‘game-on’ attitude,” Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of the Green Car Journal and CarsOfChange.com and president of the nonprofit Green Car Institute, was quoted in the press release. The winner was picked by a panel of judges made up of environmental and auto experts. “There’s no overstating the importance of what Ford has done. Many have long envisioned new car showrooms where a desired model could be purchased with one of many distinctly different and efficient powertrains, selected to satisfy a buyer’s particular needs and desires.” Cogan added. The newly redesigned Ford Fusion is being offered with three different engines: the gas-electric hybrid, the plug-in hybrid and the gasoline-powered model; with the price of the base model price starting at at $21,700, which is a 175 horsepower, 2.5-liter engine that’s EPA rated at up to 34 mpg on the highway. The 2013 Ford Fusion hybrid model, which was rated at 47 mpg over all, will accelerate to 62 mph on electric power alone, and provides a combined 188 horsepower. The Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid can travel up to 20 miles on electricity alone, with hundreds of additional miles available on gasoline-electric hybrid power. The Honda Civic GX Natural Gas was Green Car of the Year award winner last year and Chevrolet Volt won in 2010. Previous winners include 2010 Audi A3 TDI, 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid, and the 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid. | Baldwin trashes Post: Alec Baldwin Tweets against New York Post Posted: 30 Nov 2012 04:40 AM PST  Alec Baldwin Image Credit: alecbaldwin.com Alec Baldwin trashes the New York Post and its columnist Andrea Peyser on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 due to an article about his alleged stalker. The incident adds up to Baldwin‘s growing spat with the New York media. Baldwin‘s alleged stalker, Genevieve Sabourin, was arrested outside his New York City home earlier this year. Sabourin was arrested again after she tweeted at Baldwin‘s wife Hilaria. The alleged stalker reportedly claims that she had a two-year relationship with Baldwin. The recent incident made the front page of the New York Post‘s Wednesday’s edition. On Thursday, Peyser published an article in favor of Sabourin and even demanded Baldwin to drop his charges against her alleged stalker. The columnist reportedly called Baldwin a “bloviating psycho who seduces small women and bash puny photographers.” In his response to Peyser, Baldwin tweeted the following on Wednesday.

Batman‘s original Batmobile will be up for auction in Arizona next year, January 19, 2013, according to the Barrett Jackson auto auction house on Thursday, November 29,2012. Reports say that the original Batmobile is a 19-foot, 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car that was hand-built in Turin, Italy by George Barris. The Batmobile was reportedly based on a Lincoln Mark II. The cape crusader’s first car debuted at the 1955 Chicago Auto Show. In 1965, Barris customized the Batman car in just two weeks. Barris charged only $15,000 for the customized Batman car. The Batmobile was reportedly used in the 1960s Batman TV series. is expected to go up for auction in January, the said Thursday. A brawl between Berry‘s fiance, actor Olivier Martinez, and her ex on Thanksgiving Day led to a temporary restraining order by the court against Aubry. After the fisticuffs with Aubry, Olivier arrested him under the merit of a citizen’s arrest. Several pictures of Aubry, sporting a black eye were posted on the internet. Berry‘s ex also suffered a broken rib and other injuries. Aubry also obtained a temporary restraining order against Martinez. Berry and his ex-boyfriend has already appeared twice in a family court as they battle over the custody of their 4-year-old daughter. |

| 200-foot-long sinkhole: Ohio sinkhole collapses Dover roadway (Photos) Posted: 29 Nov 2012 10:27 PM PST  200-foot-long Ohio sinkhole collapses Image Credit: ODOT District 11 A 200-foot-long sinkhole collapses in the area of Route 516 West in Dover, Ohio on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, according to a news report at News Net 5. Reports say that the large sinkhole reportedly measures about 85-feet-deep and 100-feet-wide. Fire Captain Mike Mossor revealed that the affected area is estimated to be the size of four football fields. With the sinkhole collapse, authorities were forced to close down part of the town as investigation is underway. Lieutenant Eric Escola, commander of the New Philadelphia post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, revealed that the sinkhole collapse “could have been much worse than it is.” Lt. The anonymous Santa is reportedly a rich businessman from Kansas City, Missouri. Reports say that Santa plans to give away $100,000 during the holiday season. He started giving away thousands of $100 bills in New Jersey and New York on Thursday. According to Santa, “The money is not the point at all. It’s about the random acts of kindness. I’m just setting an example, and if 10 percent of the people who see me emulate what I’m doing, anybody can be a Secret Santa!” The secret Santa reportedly showers crisp $100 bills with a police motorcade that “took him across the borough, passing a church ripped from its foundations and homes surrounded by debris.” Santa reportedly find time interviewing 72-year-old Carol Hefty. He asked Hefty if anyone has given her money. After Hefty replied “No”, Santa handed a $100 bill stamped with red “Secret Santa.” He told the woman that “It is, and it’s for you.” The Secret Santa journey included stops in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Staten Island Salvation Army store. Santa‘s convoy were very careful with their stops to avoid getting mobbed by the crowd. Reports say that Secret Santa revealed that he is continuing the annual holiday tradition of his Kansas City friend, Larry Stewart, who hand out bills every December. Stewart reportedly has given over $1 million to strangers in thrift stores, food pantries and shelters. He passed away in 2007.
