However, he changed his mind and he wanted to remove the tattoo now saying he was not impressed with Romney after his remarks on his big loss. He even called Romney a “sore loser.”

“It stands not only for a losing campaign but for a sore loser. He's pretty shameful as far as I’m concerned, man. There's no dignity in blaming somebody else for buying votes and paying off people. I can't get behind that or stay behind that,” Hartsburg reportedly told Politico.com.

As noted by Yahoo TV, Dolly Parton appeared on the daily morning syndicated show Live with Kelly and Michael, and had fun with hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, who asked her on how she prefers to be called after she was awarded an honorary doctorate by University of Tennessee back in 2009.

“So now that you have your doctorate, do we call you Dr. Dolly or Double D?” Strahan jokingly asked Parton, who received a doctorate of humane and musical letters for her contribution in the music industry as singer and composer since the 1960s. The audience then laughed, along with Kelly and Dolly.

“It’s an innocent question!” Strahan defended himself, with the 66-year old country music iconic singer saying that she had been called that for years. Kelly and Michael later asked Dolly a couple of fast impromptu questions with time limit, and the iconic singer gave hilarious answers.

Meanwhile, Parton, who celebrated her 45th wedding anniversary with Carl Thomas Dean on May 30, 2011, responded to rumors that she is gay, which apparently started when people noticed her long-time close friendship with Judy Ogle. The ’9 to 5′ star appeared on ABC‘s ‘Nightline’ last Monday and denied the rumors.

Judy and I have been best friends since we were like in the third and fourth grade. I mean, I love her as much as I love anybody in the whole world, but we’re not romantically involved.” Dolly Parton was quoted telling to show host Juju Chang. Parton was then promoting her new biography book titled “Dream More: Celebrate the Dreamer in You”.

According to reports, La Gorce Country Club in Miami banned Jordan after refusing to change his cargo pants when he was informed that he was violating the club’s dress code. The club’s strict dress code is said to be slacks or Bermuda shorts and a collared shirt.

Michael Jordan‘s representative reportedly told the New York Post: “Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants. He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code.”

“This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and, at that point, he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change. We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it’s their loss – as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest,” Michael Jordan‘s representative added.

The golf club did not respond with a comment on why Michael Jordan was banned when some news organization contacted them.

$1 coins instead of bills? Use of coins instead of bills can save a lot of money for the government, GAO says

$1 coins instead of bills? This is the question that most Americans are now asking after the Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported that circulation of coins instead of bills can save a lot of money for the US government, recommending the stop of printing dollars and make more $1 coins instead.

As noted at CNN Money on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, GAO reported that production of one-dollar usually costs about 30 cents for the U.S. Mint, and the US government can sell them to Americans for a dollar per piece, which typically last around 30 years.

On the other hand, GAO estimates that printing of dollar bills costs around 5 cents each, which is much cheaper than producing $1 coins. However, bills are being projected to last for 4.7 years only since they are made of paper. Coins are being estimated to last for around 30 years, which $4.4 billion may be saved.

“We continue to believe that replacing the note with a coin is likely to provide a financial benefit to the government if the note is eliminated and negative public reaction is effectively managed through stakeholder outreach and public education.” Lorelei St. James, a GAO director, was quoted in a pdf file report.

GAO, a nonpartisan, investigative arm of US Congress has reportedly has been recommending this change for the past 22 years, and will present their latest recommendation report during a hearing before the House Financial Services Committee this Thursday, with St. James hoping that it will now be approved.

Ms. St. James also emphasized that 10 countries, including Canada and the UK, have been successful in replacing low-denomination notes with coins, even if it received negative comments from the public. For US, issues have been raised among the public, the vending machine industry, and the Federal Reserve.

Last year, Louise Roseman, director of Operations and Payment Systems of the US Federal Reserve Bank, wrote a letter to GAO last year, questioning the proposal of the ‘$1 coins to bills’ change, and in doubt as to whether it will really help save money for the US government.

Aliyev complained that even though he has a Russian accent, he can communicate well in English. He even volunteered to talk to FedEx management and let them hear his ability to speak in English. According to Aliyev, “I think for a driver, my English is not too bad.”

Robert H. Wilde, lawyer of Aliyev, explained that Aliyev has an accent “but it’s very understandable.” The lawyer added that “GNB said he was an excellent employee and would like to keep him, but it was instructed by FedEx to terminate him.”

GNB Trucking Co., based in Salt Lake City and long-haul partner of FedEx, is Aliyev‘s employer. When FedEx requested GNB to fire Aliyev due to his Russian accent, the contractor acted in favor of the Memphis, Tennessee based company. The trucking company said that it is FedEx who has a hand in the hiring and firing of its truck drivers and several other business terms.

According to Aliyev, the process of firing him started months into the job. An Iowa weigh station complained about his Russian accent. He now works as an independent trucker.

To obtain a Federal commercial driver’s license, an applicant must first demonstrate the ability to communicate in English.

Aliyev reportedly obtained his commercial driver’s license since 2009. The FedEx issue is the first time that Aliyev experienced a work related problem.

Real-life Popeye Arms: Moustafa Ismail’s Real-life Popeye Arms Were Made The Natural Way

Posted: 28 Nov 2012 06:06 PM PST

Moustafa Ismail of Massachusetts was tagged as the “Real-life Popeye” with his 31-inch upper arms, as reported by international news sites on Wednesday, November 28, 2012.

With his 31-inch biceps, Ismail said that it took him two to three hours when buying a shirt from a normal store and that sometimes it gets ripped.

“You know, we’re going to say it’s like a challenge for me to go and buy a shirt from normal store. I have to look for 2 or 3 hours in the store before I buy anything. If I put it in the store it gets ripped,” Ismail was quoted saying in a report.

The Egyptian-born bodybuilder has been crowned for the world’s biggest biceps on September 2012 and is supposed to appear in the 2013 Guinness Book of World Records. However, Guinness World Records is now having doubts on whether to recognize him, because of the controversy that started when Ismail went to an all-expenses-paid trip to London offered by Guinness for a signature appearance with the world’s shortest woman and others.

Many people believed that Ismail’s real-life Popeye arms is a product of artificial means like steroids to get his bulging biceps and triceps. Skeptics speculated that the Egyptian-born bodybuilder had implants in his arms or he might have injected his muscles with a synthetic oil substance to fluff his muscle tissues.

“It is hurtful,” Ismail said as quoted in a report. He also added that supporting a wife in the U.S. and family members in Egypt doesn’t leave him with extra money to buy pricey synthetic oils or steroids.

The real-life Popeye insist that his arms were made the natural way and that it is the result of a punishing workout regimen he started after a guest at his uncle’s wedding in his native Egypt mocked his overweight frame.

The Daily Mail noted that the bodybuilder eats three pounds of chicken, a pound of steak or fish a day, four cups of almonds, large portions of carbohydrates and three liters of protein shakes every day to fuel his daily work outs. Ismail is also taking mineral and vitamin supplements and drinks plenty of water to flush out his system.

Reports said that Ismail works-out daily for about two hours in which he lifts as much as 500 pounds to maintain his 31-inch upper arms.

“Working out makes my mood better. You’re just focusing. And I like that in this type of sport you can see your improvement in your shape. I know they are growing, my chest, my shoulders, my arms. I love weights,” Ismail was quoted saying in a report.

The 24-year-old bodybuilder also noted that the independent doctors of a Fuji TV documentary program in Tokyo where he appeared, collected blood samples and X-rayed his muscles, but found nothing abnormal about his arms.

Meanwhile, Guinness immediately removed references to Ismail from its website and Spokeswoman Sara Wilcox said last October that Guinness was still conducting research with medical specialists and reviewing Ismail‘s category.

On the other hand, Ismail‘s fellow amateur bodybuilders at his gym supports him and they believe that the real-life Popeye’s arms are natural.
