| Britney Spears wedding to Jason Trawick called off, reports say Posted: 16 Nov 2012 11:04 AM PST Britney Spears‘ wedding to Jason Trawick was reportedly cancelled, with reports saying that their romantic relationship has allegedly turned sour, after almost a year that the couple was reported as engaged. Britney announced via Twitter last December that Jason gave her a gift she has been waiting for a long time. Spears, 30, and Trawick, 40, started dating around 3 years ago. “They are telling their friends it’s being postponed, but they will probably never make it down the aisle. Britney doesn’t think Jason is any fun and resents him because he acts more like a second father than a romantic partner, or equal.” The source was quoted in the report. “Britney and Jason have been sleeping in separate bedrooms for a very long time. She has been staying in a hotel during the week because of the live X Factor shows, and although Jason stays at the same hotel, he is in a room adjacent to hers.” The source added, noting that “Jason feels like he is Britney‘s babysitter.” “Britney‘s parents are absolutely devastated that the wedding has been called off. Lynne is very close to Jason and views him as one of her children…It doesn’t help matters that both Jamie and Jason are co-conservators of Britney. | Skydiving cats in Swedish ad promoting pet insurance go viral (Video) Posted: 16 Nov 2012 09:38 AM PST A group of so-called skydiving cats was used by a Swedish pet insurance company in their ad, as shown in the video below. This skydiving cats commercial, which was created by Folksam to promote their cat insurance policies, is now going viral, and has been picked by various major sites such as Huffington Post and Gawker. More about our cat insurance policy can be found here.” Folksam wrote on the YouTube video description, as translated to English via Google Translate; along with a link to their official website. “Note that we love cats and that this movie is obviously a trick shot. We have of course followed the Animal Welfare Act and have not thrown out a few cuties from an airplane.” Folksam added, with the skydiving cats ad uploaded last November 8, and has nearly 322,000 views as of this writing. “Your cat may have nine lives, but when an accident occurs, it is mainly a veterinarian is required. | Dell buys Gale Technologies, forms new Enterprise Systems and Solutions organization Posted: 16 Nov 2012 07:54 AM PST Dell Inc. announced this Friday, November 16, 2012, their acquisition of Gale Technologies, a software firm based in Santa Clara, California that provides infrastructure automation solution to organizations, allowing them to streamline the deployment of on-premise and hybrid clouds; along with the formation of their new unit. Dell did not reveal the details of the deal, but noted that its acquisition will help accelerate the momentum of their converged infrastructure family, the Active System Manager. In addition, a new division, the Enterprise Systems and Solutions organization, will be formed to design and deliver integrated enterprise IT solutions and fuel enterprise growth, as well as to extend Dell‘s growing enterprise momentum by focusing on optimizing infrastructure for enterprise workload solutions. “Today, enterprises need solutions that enable operational benefits of speed, efficiency, and flexibility in the allocation and use of resources.” Marius Haas, president, Dell Enterprise Solutions Group, was quoted at Dell.com, adding that Gale Technologies integrates well with their Active Infrastructure family. “We are excited to join the Dell team and contribute to the company’s transformation into an end-to-end IT solutions provider by extending the Active Infrastructure family of converged solutions.” Gale Technologies CEO Nariman Teymourian said, noting that the combination of the two companies will be a big help to IT organizations. As noted by Dell, this new unit will be headed by the company’s Networking business vice president and general manager Dario Zamarian, who will be reporting to Marius Haas, president of Dell Enterprise Solutions Group. | Sandy exposes ship: 90-year-old ship found on Fire Island (Photo) Posted: 16 Nov 2012 07:15 AM PST Hurricane Sandy exposed the shipwreck of a presumed 90-year-old ship that was reportedly buried on Fire Island National Seashore, a barrier island off Long Island in New York. According to Paula Valentine, a public affairs specialist in the area, the shipwreck is believed to be that of Bessie White, a vessel measuring over 200 feet long with a displacement of 2000 tons, owned by Charles T. White. U.S. Geological Survey coastal geologist Cheryl Hapke explained that the buried ship was exposed after about 72 feet of sand was eroded when the entire island was submerged by the heavy rain brought about by Hurricane Sandy. Reports say that almost 80 percent of the houses in the area was flooded by Sandy. Sea water reportedly divided the island into four areas. |
