| Sloopy The Dancing Chihuahua Video Goes Viral Posted: 27 Nov 2012 03:42 PM PST  Image Credit: YouTube Screen Grab Devin Contreras “Sloopy the dancing Chihuahua” video that was uploaded in YouTube by Devin Contreras on November 22, 2012 has gone viral. Devin, owner of Sloopy said in his YouTube account that he shot the video when Sloopy started dancing for the plate of turkey on the counter after their Thanksgiving meal. “My chihuahua Sloopy, after our thanksgiving meal started dancing for the plate of turkey on the counter! He kept dancing so I put on some Miami Sound Machine and let him get busy,” as quoted from Devin Contreras’ YouTube account. As of this posting, “Sloopy the dancing Chihuahua” video has earned more than a million views. Some people have positive comments on Contreras video while there are some who think that the video was digitally altered in some way. According to some comments, “there’s no way his little legs could possibly be moving that quickly for that long.” One comment also said that when you look closely, you can quite easily see some strings. | Bigfoot DNA Study Reveals It Is A Human Relative Posted: 27 Nov 2012 03:25 PM PST A press release issued by a company called DNA Diagnostics reported that genetic testing of a purported Bigfoot DNA reveals that it is a human relative that existed about 15,000 years ago, several science news sites reported on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Ketchum suggests that such cryptids mated with modern human females which resulted in hairy hominin hybrids. “A team of scientists can verify that their five-year long DNA study, currently under peer-review, confirms the existence of a novel hominin hybrid species, commonly called ‘Bigfoot’ or ‘Sasquatch,’ living in North America. Researchers’ extensive DNA sequencing suggests that the legendary Sasquatch is a human relative that arose approximately 15,000 years ago,” the press release said. For Ketchum‘s study, the testing was reportedly done on three “whole nuclear genomes from purported Sasquatch samples.” “Our data indicate that the North American Sasquatch is a hybrid species, the result of males of an unknown hominin species crossing with female Homo sapiens,” the statement reads. Meanwhile, Benjamin Radford, deputy editor of Skeptical Inquirer science magazine is skeptical. “How did the team definitively determine that the samples were from a Bigfoot? Did they take a blood or saliva sample from a living Bigfoot? If so, how did they get that close, and why didn’t they simply capture it or photograph it? If the samples were found in the wild, how do they know it wasn’t left by another animal — or possibly even a hunter, hiker or camper who left human genetic material?” Radford asked on his Live Science article. Ketchum‘s research on Bigfoot DNA has not appeared in any peer-reviewed scientific journal, and there is no information on when it will happen, reports said. |

Spokesman for Metropolitan Sydney South Coast and Hunter Regional Algal Co-ordinating Committees, James Muddle said the algae bloom in the Bondi Beach was reportedly caused by Noctiluca scintillans, a “nutrient, rich deep in the ocean water and onto the continental shelf.” Blood red beach water in Sydney Video Credit: tvbodaga/YouTube Algal experts revealed that Noctiluca scintillans were also the reason behind the earlier closure of other Sydney and central coast beaches that include Clovelly Beach and Gordon’s Bay. Experts explained that algae blooms becomes prevalent during hot, humid weather. Spring weather in Australia is now in transition to Summer, which usually begins in December. According to a spokeswoman for Sydney Water, a maintenance team that include a water quality expert, arrived at the Bondi beach at 11am to carry out extensive tests on site and take samples to be tested in laboratories. Bondi Beach reopened in the afternoon after traces of Noctiluca scintillans faded and disappeared. Only a few traces of the algae was seen on the sand. Reports say that the red algae is non-toxic, however, the red-colored water contains a high level of ammonia that can cause skin and eye irritation. |

According to reports, the petition was filed on Thursday under “Human Rights” section of the petition portion of the White House website. The petition reads as follows: “We, the Citizens of the Great State of Texas, and Dallas Cowboys fans worldwide, have been oppressed by an over controlling, delusional, oppressive dictator for way too long. Request the Executive Branch's immediate assistance in removal of owner and GM, Jerry Jones. His incompetence and ego have not only been an extreme disappointment for way too long, but moreover, it has caused extreme mental and emotional duress.” At least 25,000 signatures are needed for the Cowboys’ fans petition to be considered by Obama, reports said. About 3,800 Cowboys fans have signed the petition at the time of this writing. |

According to reports, an online version of the Chinese newspaper, People’s Daily, featured a 55-page photo of Kim Jong Un on its website hailing a report of The Onion for choosing the North Korean leader as “The Sexiest Man Alive for 2012,” allegedly not realizing that the article is a satire. Jalyessa Walker sets a new world record for the most consecutive backflips on Saturday, November 24, international news sites reported on Monday, November 26, 2012. According to reports, Walker, a former cheerleader, broke the world record by flipping 49 times across a college football field in front of about 20,400 people in El Paso, Texas. Walker only needed 36 flips to break the record, but she had a personal goal of 50. “I wish I didn’t run out of room so I could have done 50. As soon as I hit the concrete, I was starting to get tired and scared because I didn’t want to fall,” Walker was quoted as saying by El Paso Times. When asked why she tried to set a new world record doing backflips, Walker answered: “I like challenges. I’ve been a gymnastics since I was four, and tumbling is what I love to do. This is the perfect thing for me. So I thought why not give it a try.” The record is not yet official until Guinness World Records confirmed it. However, with the video provided and more than 20,000 eyewitnesses, the confirmation of Guinness will just be a formality, reports said. Nintendo Wii Mini will be initially be released exclusively in Canada on December 7, 2012 for $99. A Nintendo report say, that Wii Mini “can play more than 1,400 disc-based Wii games.” The Nintendo website described the Wii Mini as a smaller version of the original Wii system that comes in matte black with a red border. Out of the box, Nintendo Wii Mini system reportedly comes with a red Wii Remote Plus, a red Nunchuk controller and works with most Wii accessories. In an earlier statement, Ron Bertram, vice president and general manager of Nintendo Canada said that “Wii Mini is a great gift for the holidays that brings everyone in the family together to play. It will go on sale this summer in California, Oregon, Canada, and South Korea, where it was manufactured. As noted by GM, it is the first all-electric vehicle in North America that will offer an optional SAE Combo DC Fast Charge capability, which can charge the battery up to 80 percent of capacity in about 20 minutes and is being expected to have among the best EV battery range in its segment. “When you engineer a technology-filled, all-electric mini car that goes from zero-to-60 mph in less than eight seconds, customers won't miss the gas.” Mark Reuss, president, General Motors North America, was quoted in the report, with the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV to be unveiled in public this Wednesday, November 28. “The Volt and now the Spark EV show that Chevrolet not only knows EVs better than anyone else, we also know how to help customers get the most out of their EV experience.” Reuss added, with the vehicle to be powered by an advanced electric motor and battery system. As GM have noted, the power for this 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV will come from a GM-designed, coaxial drive unit and electric motor that together can deliver 130 hp (110 kW) and 400 lb.-ft. (542 Nm) of torque for instant acceleration, and supported by a more than 20-kWh lithium ion battery. Spark EV‘s battery life is warranted for eight years or 100,000 miles, with the battery consisting of a 560-pound (254 kg) square lithium-ion battery pack with a volume of 133 liters, and contains 336 prismatic cells, and was said to have been tested for more than 200,000 hours in GM‘s global battery systems labs. For the vehicle’s interior, critical vehicle functions will be displayed clearly on one of the car’s two reconfigurable, high-resolution, seven-inch color LCD screens. Drivers will be musically connected with Chevrolet‘s exclusive MyLink radio, along with various apps including Apple‘s voice assistant Siri. |
