| Posted: 17 Nov 2012 10:31 AM PST  Image Credit: knickledger.com Wal-Mart Stores Inc. filed an unfair labor practice charge against the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, or UFCW late Thursday, November 15, 2012, to stop months of protests and rallies outside Walmart stores as reported in huffingtonpost.com. The move was made a week before the expected strike on Black Friday, November 23, 2012, as reported earlier. Black Friday Sale event is the busiest shopping day of the year. “We are taking this action now because we cannot allow the UFCW to continue to intentionally seek to create an environment that could directly and adversely impact our customers and associates,” Wal-Mart spokesman David Tovar was quoted saying. Meanwhile, Communications Director Jill Cashen said that there’s nothing in the law that gives an employer the right to silence workers and citizens. Wal-Mart counsel Steven Wheeless sent letter on Friday, November 16, 2012, to Deborah Gaydos, assistant general counsel of the UFCW stating that numerous activities have caused disruptions to Wal-Mart's business. Report further said that OUR Walmart Union group, a subsidiary of the UFCW as of 2011, according to a filing with the Labor Department, is reported organizing its most public displays against the Walmart chain, with 1,000 protests such as strikes and what it calls “online actions” that began this week and will culminate on Black Friday. Wal-Mart intends UFCW to be held accountable for any injury or property damage that may occur as a result of the actions led by the UFCW, OUR Walmart or any of its other affiliates. Wal-Mart filed its charge against the UFCW late on Thursday, November 15,2012, with the NLRB regional office in Little Rock, Arkansas. The case number is 26-CB-093342. |

| White Humpback Whale Video Taken During Rare Sighting Off the Coast of Norway Posted: 17 Nov 2012 05:30 AM PST  White Humpback Whale Image Credit: Dan Fisher A rare white humpback whale has been sighted off the coast of Norway by Dan Fisher, a British Maritime engineer, according to a Daily Mail report on Thursday, November 15, 2012. The white humpback whale encounter by the 32-year-old Fisher reportedly happened while he was on a boat trip towards Svalbard in Norway. Daily Mail compared the white humpback whale to Moby Dick, the famous whale in the novel by American author Herman Melville. Fisher was able to take several pictures of the white whale and earlier posted by the Daily Mail. Previous sightings of the white humpback whale include Migaloo, an all-white humpback whale that migrates along the eastern coast of Australia and the 2011 white humpback whale calf spotted near the Great Barrier Reef in northern Queensland. Carter is reportedly seeking separation from her husband of three years, Brandon Malone. Reports say that the petition filed in court did not indicate any agreement on how the couple’s assets will be divided. However, Carter is reportedly seeking spousal support and requested the court that her attorneys’ fees be paid by Malone. The LA court records revealed that country singer’s separation petition was filed due to irreconcilable differences between the couple. Carter is married to Malone since October 2009.
