| Tunnel of Lights Japan: More Than 7 Million LED Lights Used In The Display (Photos) Posted: 11 Nov 2012 01:07 PM PST  Tower of lights in Japan Image Credit: Bored Panda / Nagashima-onsen.co.jp A tunnel of lights in Japan made up of more than 7 million LED lights was recently opened, international news sites reported on Saturday, November 10, 2012. According to a report from Bored Panda, the tunnel of lights is located in the Nabana no Sato garden on the island of Nagashima in Kuwana. All the 7 million LED lights used in the tunnel are solar-powered, Tree Hugger noted. The tower of lights was already named “the best light show in the country” and visitors can visit the site until the end of March, 2013, reports said. However, it did not mention whether Michael agreed with the terms and how much did he paid, if there was any. In addition, the new book also reportedly revealed that some of his friends took advantage over his wealth. Marlon Brando allegedly asked for $1 million from Michael in return for his appearance in a video tribute to him, while Elizabeth Taylor allegedly demanded for a $638,000 necklace for speaking in a video to defend him. Early last month, Vanity Fair also reviewed the same Michael Jackson book and reported that book author Randall Sullivan wrote that Michael‘s burial was delayed for almost three months due to disagreement between Michael‘s estate and his younger sister, Janet Jackson, now 46. As Vanity Fair noted, Sullivan mentioned in the book that Janet allegedly placed a $40,000 deposit to Michael‘s burial at Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries in Glendale, California, but “she did not allow the funeral to take place until her money was returned back to her.” On the same month, ABC News reported that Blair G. Brown, Janet Jackson‘s lawyer, sent a letter to Vanity Fair saying that Sullivan's book accusing that his client “demanded her money back before Michael‘s burial” has no basis at all and is absolutely false, and is very damaging to her reputation. However, Vanity Fair insisted that the excerpt in that book is true and that Sullivan‘s claim that Janet made a deposit of $40,000 is actually higher than what they discovered, with the paper later updating their report and changed the amount to $49,000, based on the alleged record released later. |

| Phil Jackson, Lakers Team Management Discusses Return as NBA Coach Posted: 11 Nov 2012 02:59 AM PST  Phil Jackson Image Credit: NBA.com Phil Jackson and LA Lakers management reportedly discussed about the possibility of returning as the team’s head coach, according to a report at NBA.com on Saturday, November 10, 2012. Jackson, a former Lakers coach, met with team owner Jim Buss and general manager Mitch Kupchak. The Lakers‘ meeting with Jackson was confirmed by the team through its official website. Another round of meeting is reportedly set next week. The LA squad is currently looking for a new head coach after coach Mike Brown was fired on Friday, November 9. Bernie Bickerstaff is the current interim coach of the Lakers. Reports say Lakers superstars Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard is very supportive of re-hiring the services of Jackson. Bryant was even quoted that Jackson “teaches guys to be thinkers. He teaches us the little nuances, the details and the intricacies of the game that just a lot of people don’t know. It’s no fault of their own. When it comes to basketball, he’s genius-level. It’s tough for anybody to step in those shoes afterward from players that were raised underneath that tutelage.” Other coaches reportedly on the Lakers shopping list include Mike D’Antoni and Nate McMillan. |
