DEPARTMENT of Education secretary Bro. Armin Luistro samples the new email system that will connect the agency's almost 600,000 employees.
The Department of Education (DepEd) is the largest government agency in the Philippines. It caters to more than 20 million Filipino students in 46,000 schools in 200 divisions in 17 regions nationwide. It has almost 600,000 employees under its wing.
Due to the size of the organization, one of their biggest problems is communication and data sharing. In the digital age, teachers would have to go to division offices to get information and materials. They would use phones to communicate because not all schools have access to the internet.
