Honda Recall 2013: Latest Honda car recall involves Pilot, Odyssey models Posted: 18 Jan 2013 03:21 PM PST Honda announced that they are recalling 748,000 models of Odyssey minivans and Pilot SUVs. The latest Honda recall is reportedly their second in less than two months. Honda recalls Pilot models Image Credit: Honda The car manufacturer is reportedly recalling the Odyssey and Pilot models due to the driver’s-side airbags that were assembled without some of the rivets that secure the airbag’s plastic cover. The car airbag may not deploy properly without the rivets that may result to injury during a crash. Included in the latest Honda recall were Pilot models from year 2009 to 2013, and Odyssey models from year 2011 to 2013. Last December 12, 2012, Honda started recalling 800,000 of Pilot and Odyssey models due to a problem with the ignition key that can be removed when the vehicle wasn’t in Park. |

Sleepy bulldog puppy photo on Reddit goes viral (Picture) Posted: 18 Jan 2013 09:12 AM PST A cute sleepy bulldog puppy at social site Reddit, as shown in the photo below, is now going viral. It was uploaded by Reddit user youarenowpromoted on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, with the thread title “Aaaaaaand Relax.” Although it has no description, it now has 2,290 points with over 12,330 up votes. Sleepy bulldog puppy Image Credit: youarenowpromoted/Reddit Amusingly, the bulldog puppy can be seen lying on his back on the floor like a human being. Its eyes are totally closed but can hardly be viewed since his wrinkled face appeared to be covering them. The dog’s muscled body is totally flat on the floor, as if the adorable animal has just finished a hard day work. While it is not known if the one who uploaded the sleepy bulldog puppy photo is also the dog owner, the photo itself is more than enough to turn a bad mood into a good one. In fact, it has already attracted 106 comments (and still counting); with most of them found it as a relaxing scene. Below are some of them.

California man pays $14,000 tax in coins and bills from piggy bank (Video) Posted: 18 Jan 2013 07:59 AM PST Larry Gasper, a grandfather from Redding, California, recently paid his tax, but what seemed to be unusual is that he used coins and dollar bills, as shown in the news video below. Instead of the usual issuing of check to the bank, Gasper performed his role as an honest taxpayer quite heavily. He said he used to have a tree business but lost it a couple of years ago, which led to his problem on how to pay his tax debt. “I had to borrow some money. I’ve missed a few payments on my home to pay for my taxes for this piece of property. My grand-kid’s piggy banks, my daughter’s piggy banks, my money, my change, and a lot of people have offered to help a bit.” Larry Gasper told the report. Interestingly, Gasper, who drove all the way to a Redding bank with a wheelbarrow of money at the back of his SUV, added that he rolled all the money all by himself. And as he arrived at the bank, the teller obviously was shock and could not help but to show it to another bank staff, and asked for assistance to count them. From a cement block in Cage B5 at a Cape Town shelter to taking on the world, Oscar lived an extraordinary life.” A statement reads at WorldWoofTour.com. “You lived a life beyond imagination. You oozed absolute good; you made everyone who saw you smile and made all who knew your story open their hearts that much more. You were a light in the dark sphere of pet homelessness and you gave us all hope.” Lefson wrote at the official Facebook fan page of Oscar this Thursday, January 17. “If given the chance to say something, I know Oscar would want to thank everyone who made him feel so very loved, supported, and welcome wherever he went. He’d salute all those wonderful caring people who have adopted a dog and given a homeless dog like he once was a chance to experience life.” Lefson added. As noted by Lefson, Oscar died after being hit by a car in San Jose, California, but did not reveal further information on the incident. A memorial service, which will celebrate Oscar‘s life, will be held in Cape Town on Friday, January 25, 2013. Additional details will be posted at Oscar World Woof Tour Facebook fan page. $1 and $5 ATMs by Chase and PNC banks being rolled out, new ATM dispensing lower bills Posted: 17 Jan 2013 09:11 PM PST New $1 and $5 ATMs are now being rolled out in the US, which will allow customers to choose other than the usual bills they withdraw. Chase Bank and PNC Bank, which are being ranked the fourth and eighth largest banks in Central Florida, respectively, are the banks that operate these new machines. As noted at CNN Money on Thursday, January 17, 2013, both banks have already launched the $1 and $5 ATMs in some areas, where users can also select the quantity of each of the denomination bills they are withdrawing, via a “custom denominations” option. Customer withdrawing from ATM Image Credit: ABC video According to the report, the new machines, which are located within branches or drive-thrus of Chase and PNC, can also dispense coins, allowing withdrawals of exact change to the dollar, which will be more convenient for the customers of these two banks. “Particularly in difficult financial times when peoples’ account balances have been lower, not having to withdraw more money than you really need is helpful,” Greg McBride, senior financial analyst at Bankrate.com, told CNN Money, adding that the service will be an advantage to customers with lower account balances. For Chase Bank, it introduced between 350 and 400 of these $1 and $5 ATMs over the past year and a half, and the number of these kinds of machines is being expected to double by the end of this year. For PNC Bank, more than half of their 7,200 ATMs were upgraded and more are being expected soon. As of this writing, the Chase Bank and PNC Bank are the only banks with these features. Wells Fargo, Citibank, and Bank of America do not have $1 and $5 ATMs, and there were no reports if they have plans to do the same. For TD Bank, some of their ATMs have the capability of dispensing $5 bills. |
