A New Jersey bus from Lakewood, bound for Wall Street in the financial district of New York City, reportedly crashed into a mini-school bus on Thursday, January 10, 2013.

After the collision, the 55-seater Academy commuter bus ended up hitting a telephone pole and a tree. The school bus, with no students on board, flipped on its side beside a power supply station which was immediately shutdown as a precautionary measure.

Reports say that 17 individuals, including the driver, were injured from the Academy bus. The school bus driver and his aide reportedly suffered minor injuries. Luckily, the school bus was still on its way to pick up their children passengers when the incident occurred shortly after 8 a.m.

The bus crash resulted into a massive traffic jam in the heavily traveled route in New Jersey‘s northern shore region.

Old Bridge Township Police Capt. Robert Weiss said that they will review a video recording of a camera on board the Academy bus to help them in their investigation.

The Academy commuter bus driver, identified as Daniel Jean-Pierre from Barnegat, was airlifted to a New Brunswick hospital where he underwent surgery.

Workers were able to clear the area by noon.

Posted: 11 Jan 2013 03:30 AM PST

Amazon launched on Thursday, January 10, 2013 its latest feature called the Amazon AutoRip, wherein customers can get free MP3 versions of the CDs they bought from Amazon.com since 1998, the year they first opened its Music Store. The list of the eligible songs can be browsed at Amazon‘s dedicated page.

According to a press release at Amazon.com that day, customers who will buy an AutoRip CD will automatically receive a free MP3 version, which will be added right away to their Cloud Player libraries, even if the CD has not yet been delivered to them. They will be available for immediate playback or to be downloaded.

In addition, those who bought CDs from Amazon anytime from 1998 are also eligible to get the free MP3 versions of those albums, which will also be available in their Cloud Player libraries. These AutoRip songs are to be provided in high-quality 256 Kbps MP3 audio.

“What would you say if you bought music CDs from a company 15 years ago, and then 15 years later that company licensed the rights from the record companies to give you the MP3 versions of those CDs…and then to top it off, did that for you automatically and for free?” Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com Founder and CEO, was quoted in the report.

“Well, starting today, it’s available to all of our customers – past, present, and future – at no cost. We love these opportunities to do something unexpected for our customers.” Bezos added, with the price of the AutoRip CDs notably cheaper than those available at Apple iTunes Store.

Among the AutoRip CDs which are now available at www.Amazon.com/AutoRip include the best-selling songs from “21″ by Adele, “Overexposed” by Maroon 5, “I Dreamed A Dream” by Susan Boyle, as well as the classics like “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd and “Thriller” by Michael Jackson.

Python on plane wing caught on camera by passengers during Qantas Airways flight from Australia (Video)

A three-meter python on a plane’s wing was spotted by some of the passengers of Qantas Airways this Thursday, January 10, 2013, as shown in the video below. Apparently, the passengers of the nearly two-hour flight, from Australia to Papua New Guinea, could not do anything but to take photos and video of the poor snake.

As noted in Australian news sites that day, Qantas Airways QF191 passengers said that they noticed the python on the wing of the plane around 10 minutes after it left Cairns. A woman initially saw the snake’s head thru the plane’s window, with its body being stuck as it tries to enter the plane.

“There’s a snake on the wing…There’s its head and if you look closely you can see a fraction of its body.” The woman was quoted as saying in the report of Sydney Morning Herald. She told the cabin crew about it and they went to see the reptile, as it struggles with the strong wind.

Robert Weber, a website designer in Cairns and is among the plane passengers, captured the agonizing moment of the snake on video and shared it to local media. He told Sydney Morning Herald that passengers in front were not aware of the python but those at the back were so conscious on what was going on.

“There was no panic. At no time did anyone stop to consider that there might be others on board. I felt quite sad for it, really. For the remainder of the flight, he was trying to pull himself back into the plane, even though he was fighting against 400km/h winds.” Weber told the paper.

“The cabin crew told us that at cruising altitude, it was minus 12 degrees outside – but not even that was able to finish him. Until we landed, I looked out the window and the thing was still moving.” Weber added, noting that both pilots took turns to watch the python, which died shortly after they arrived on their destination.

“The most likely scenario is that the snake had taken refuge on the exterior of the aircraft overnight.” Qantas Airways spokesperson Thomas Woodward told the Star, adding that the incident did not affect the flight, and that the pilot made the right decision when he continued the flight instead of returning back to Cairns.

According to a press release at the official press site of Rolls-Royce that day, their 2012 sales have notable results, which include increase in sales the Middle East (up 26%), Mainland Europe (up 21%), and in Asia Pacific (up 18%). This is despite the economic uncertainty in Europe and China, and global political unrest.

In addition, there were other new Rolls-Royce record sales in some countries such as Saudi Arabia (up 63%) and Germany (up 15%). Nevertheless, the company emphasized that US and China are still their most significant individual markets, having 30% of all Rolls-Royce models sold in the US alone.

“My aim at the outset of 2012 was another record. I am delighted to announce our sales for 2012 and to celebrate our 10th anniversary with an historic record result.” Torsten Muller-Otvos, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, was quoted at Press.Rolls-RoyceMotorCars.com.

“We had an outstanding year in spite of the challenges we faced, and Rolls-Royce now leads the ultra luxury market by some considerable margin. I applaud the Rolls-Royce workforce for their passion and commitment to this Great British brand and we can look forward to future success.” Muller-Otvos added.

Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce announced that 30 new or refurbished dealerships have been opened in some of their new markets like Latin America and Thailand, now with a total more than 100 across the globe. These openings have contributed to the sales growth, with 2013 being forecast to be a good year for the company.

The man claimed that he gave a $20,000 dowry to the parents of the 15-year-old. However, reports say that after a fight between the couple, the girl went back to her parents.
