#Walang Pasok Tomorrow Classes Suspended August 12, 2013

There are a lot of question whether there will be a class or not especially in metro manila tomorrow, the  Typhoon Labuyo is expected to create havoc in Luzon especially in Region 1 and 2, National Capital Region is expected to experience flooding due to heavy rains.

With this the public are asking ? Wala pasok ba bukas? Is the classes tomorrow August 12, 2013 suspended?

Manila and neighboring provinces do have a storm signal, Signal # 1 and as expected there will be no classes for elementary school if there will be storm signal tomorrow for metro Manila… the DEPED haven't yet declared suspension of classes for tomorrow. So please stay tuned for more updates on the status of classes tomorrow.

At 7:00 p.m. 11 August 2013, the center of Typhoon “LABUYO” was located at 170 km Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora (15.4°N, 123.7°E).

Rules on automatic suspension of classes:

  • Storm Signal No 1 suspends classes in kindergarten
  • No 2 in elementary and high school
  • No 3 in college, including graduate school and government offices.

Buwan ng Wika Official Theme Programs Topics

August "Buwan ng Wika" the government declared the month of August as the "Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa" and this year's theme is "Wika Natin ang Daang Matuwid". The Buwan ng Wika is being headed by the Department of Education as well as the Commission on Filipino Language,  the DEPED will supervise and will create programs this month with the help of the students to celebrate the Buwan ng Wika.

Below are the  theme and programs of the month of August provided by the official gazette of the Philippine government.

From August 1 to 7, the focus is in giving importance to the national language which will be highlighted by taking to heart the lyrics of the national anthem.

From August 8 to 14, the highlight is on the importance of the national language in enforcing discipline that will lead to national development. For this, the text of the pledge of allegiance to the Philippine flag will be dissected and put to heart. The schools are encouraged to stage plays and writing contests that emphasize why discipline is important in achieving progress.

On August 15 to 21, the theme is the use of language as an instrument to achieve freedom and justice. Schools are encouraged to conduct a symposium on the history of the country's struggle for freedom and the holding of debate following the theme "Ang Kahalagahan ng Wika sa Larangan ng Katarungan."

For the week of August 22 to 28, the theme is "Wikang Filipino: Tugon sa Malinaw na Programa sa Tuwid na Landas." The week will be about composing songs and writing poetry on the programs being pursued by the government such as caring for the environment, cleanliness and promotion of national language.

The remaining days of August will be anchored on the celebration of the Filipino language as the voice of teachers, students, and the language of heroism.

DepEd released Memo No. 89 s. 2013

The objective of the celebration are the following:

  • fully- implement Presidential Proclamation No. 1041 s. 1997 (month-long celebration of ‘Buwan ng Wika’ every August);
  • encourage different agencies of the government and private sector to join with this program of uplifting civic and national language awareness;
  • encourage Filipinos to give values to our national language by mean of active participation in all activities in line with Buwan ng Wika.

The theme of the ‘Buwan ng Wika’ 2013 celebration is subdivided into the following:

  • Ang Wika Natin ay Wika ng Katarungan at Kapayapaan;
  • Ang Wika Natin ay Laban sa Katiwalian;
  • Ang Wika Natin ay Sandata Laban sa Kahirapan;
  • Ang Wika Natin ay Wika ng Mabilisan, Inklusibo, at Sustenidong Kaunlaran; at
  • Ang Wika Natin ay Wika sa Pangangalaga ng Kaligiran

It's the championship final for the FIBA Asia 2013, the Philippines will battle with Iran tonight, the Philippines won the game last night to the one of the most dangerous team in FIBA Asia 2013, South Korea they have great player and shooter, it was a breathtaking game versus Korea by only a margin of 7 points, the Philippines gave it all even one of their tallest prayer suffered an injury in the second half of the game.

The win of the Philippines gave the Philippines a sure silver whether they win or not in the championship and a spot in the FIBA 2014 game, watch the game tonight its live on TV 5 and Solar sports.
