| Don Cherry: ‘Are we nuts?’ Twitter rant about $49.5 million Canada aid to Haiti Posted: 08 Jan 2013 10:42 AM PST Don Cherry, a Canadian ice hockey commentator for CBC Television, seemed to be unhappy after he learned the generous financial support of his country to Haiti, which amounted to $49.5 million. Maybe it’s just me. But Canada gave Haiti 49.5 million dollars last year. Are we nuts?” Don Cherry (@CoachsCornerCBC) tweeted on Monday, January 7, 2013. “We’ve got a guy dying in Toronto waiting 3 hours for an ambulance. We got people waiting 7, 8 10 hours, if they’re lucky in a waiting room with one doctor for a zillion people. We nickel and dime our doctors, nurses, and veterans plus a million other services. Yet we can send almost 50 million to Haiti.” Cherry added. On his next tweet, Cherry, 78, mentioned the name of Julian Fantino. He is a former Toronto Police Chief, and an elected Member of the Parliament of Canada. He was appointed as Minister for International Cooperation of Canada on July 24, 2012. As noted at Canada.com, Cherry, who is also a co-host in Canadian sports program ‘Hockey Night in Canada,’ tweeted just days after Fantino told a newspaper that Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will not continue to fund new aid projects in Haiti until it finds a more effective approach to help the country. CIDA, on its official website, stated that Canada sent almost $49.5 million to Haiti from 2010 to 2011, as a financial aid to the country, when it was badly hit by a 7.0-magnitude earthquake on January 12, 2010, with estimated casualties of 316,000. Emma Watson Image Credit: tntmagazine.com According to reports on Monday, January 7, 2013, the Harry Potter star tweeted about the incident, saying, “Passport control: ‘Unaccompanied minor?’ Me: ‘Sorry?’ Passport control: ‘Where is ur guardian?’ Me: ‘I’m 22!!!!!!!’ #neverwearingabackpackagain.” Apparently, Watson was wearing a backpack when it happened last month, December, 2012. According to Watson as quoted in the reports, this is not the first time it happened to her. “Emma was mortified. Not only did they not recognise her, they thought she was a child. It was very embarrassing but she managed to awkwardly laugh it off,” a source reportedly told the Sunday People newspaper. Watson was later allowed to enter through security after she was able to convince them of her age, reports said.    |

Aldrin, who turns 82 this January 20, filed a divorce from Lois on June 15, 2011, citing “irreconcilable differences,” after 23 years of marriage. They have no children together. Lois will receive nearly 50 percent of his fortune, including half of a $475,000 bank account, as well as 50 percent of the profits from his businesses, trademarks, and stocks. In addition, Buzz reportedly agreed to give her a monthly spousal support of $9,500 and 30 percent of his entire yearly income, which was estimated to reach over $600,000. Lois was also said to be keeping her 1988 Mercedes, which has a license plate with “Moon Gal” on it, as a separate property. The couple got married on February 14, 1988, Valentine’s Day, at the Western Savings Corporate Center in Phoenix. It was the second marriage for Lois, who is now being assumed to be 78 years old. Buzz was previously married to Joan Archer, with whom he had three children, and to Beverly Zile. Buzz Aldrin is famously known for being the second man on the moon via Apollo 11 on July 20, 1969, right after Neil Armstrong, who passed away on August 25, 2012 at the age of 82. Back in September 2011, he was rumored to be dating Michelle Sucillon, 51, a former Borders bookstore executive; and Lois knew about it. “We’ve had a great life and I don’t blame Buzz, I blame the girl. He filed for divorce in June. The book signing where they met was in 2009, and I was there. She was kind of aggressive. But he didn’t start seeing her then. | Kim Kardashian, Kanye West buy $11 million mansion, reports say (Photo) Posted: 08 Jan 2013 04:00 AM PST Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reportedly bought an $11 million mansion, which could be a sign that they are preparing for the arrival of their first baby. Last December 30, Kanye announced during his concert at Revel Resort‘s Ovation Hall that Kim is pregnant. A photo of the top view of the property is available below. The said house is reportedly a 10,000-square-foot pad in an über-private, gated community in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California, and is now under construction. As noted in the report, the Kim-Kanye mansion is being expected to be an Italian-style villa, complete with luxurious amenities such as gym, a movie theater, bowling alley, basketball court, complete hair and makeup salon, and indoor and outdoor pools; and could be a perfect house nest for building a family. Interestingly, TMZ added that Kim and Kanye will be the new neighbors of Joe Francis, Chris Paul, and Jennifer Aniston. The paper earlier reported that the controversial couple declined a $3 million baby photo offer from an overseas tabloid for their unborn baby. As of this writing, no wedding plan was mentioned. It will be moved on its new time slot 12:35 p.m. ET starting this Tuesday. “Anytime anybody’s reeling threats at somebody, you know, it’s not appropriate. I’m a professional. I’m not used to that type of environment.” Carey told Walters, adding that she increased security personnel to protect her in case something bad will happen. “I just felt it was the appropriate thing to do,” she said. “Sitting there on the road with two babies, I’m not going to take any chances.” Carey added, who also talked about her about her music, being a mother to twins Moroccan (son) and Monroe (daughter), and her struggle with the health of her husband Nick Cannon. “It was very serious, but he’s got some great doctors who really got in there and helped him out and at this point he is doing great. | Rajon Rondo Suspended: Celtics Guard Out For One Game Posted: 07 Jan 2013 07:06 PM PST Rajon Rondo is suspended again by the NBA for one game without pay, according a report at NBA.com on Monday, January 7, 2013. In Sunday’s Boston Celtics versus Atlanta Hawks game, Rondo bumped into referee Rodney Mott after being called for an offensive foul. Though Mott spared Rondo with a technical foul for making a contact with him, NBA league officials banned Rondo from suiting up for their game against the New York Knicks on Monday night. In an interview before Monday night’s game, Boston head coach Doc Rivers expressed disappointment over Rondo‘s suspension.
Last November, Rondo was meted a suspension by the league after he figured in a shoving incident againsts Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries. He was also suspended during last season’s playoffs after bumping a referee. Jason Terry took over Rondo‘s place in the Celtics‘ backcourt.    |
| Unborn baby’s fingernail sends mom in coma Posted: 07 Jan 2013 04:28 PM PST Unborn baby’s fingernail may sometimes be as fatal as a sharp knife and endanger anyone’s life. This scenario was proven in the case of premature twins, Amelie and Ava. The five-weeks twin reportedly sent their mother, Angela Cottam of Flintshire, Wales, into a coma after suffering severe internal bleeding and a collapsed lung. Daily Mail reported on Sunday, January 6, 2013, that Cottam‘s rare case occurs in just one in every 80,000 births. Cottam, married to 33-year-old Peter and works as a primary school teacher, has undergone 22 blood transfusions and was in coma for 12 hours. In a statement, Angela Cottam was very thankful that she was able to overcome her ordeal.
Her attending obstetrician, Dr Usha Rao, explained the condition that she has gone through.
